Did you know?
* In order to aquire the tapeworm parasite, all your pet has to do is swallow an infected flea. In some cases, cats have acquired tapeworms from eating rodents as well.
* One adult female flea can lay as many as 50 eggs a day and a tick can lay 100 eggs at a time.
* Fleas are excellent jumpers, leaping vertically up to 7 inches and horizontally 13 inches! ( An equivalent hop for a human would be 250 feet vertically and 450 feet horizontally.)
* A study performed at North Carolina State University indicated that 25% of cats infected with heartworms were solely indoor cats.
